2019 USAT Nationals
More kudos for our Blue Wave athletes competing at National Championships this week in Minneapolis, MN.
Here are some our results. The best showing for the Blue Wave in the USAT Nationals.
- Tiffany -gold in ULTRA SPARRING 33-45 years: gold
- Megan (31-40 Female Red All) 6th place
- Tiffany (31-40 Female Red All) 7th place Poomase
- Cronin - (under 65 World Class black belt individual poomsae) : bronze
- Emerson/Fearon (over 30 World ClassWorld Class black belt pairs poomsae): bronze
- Fearon (under 40 World Class black belt individual poomsae): bronze
- Emerson (under 50 World Class black belt individual poomsae): 5th place
- Music - 18-32 Female Black Dan 1st / Poom 1st / Black Dan 9th 53.1 - 57.0 kg(FEATHER) - eliminated in semi finals
- W. Simard - 18-32 Female Black Dan 1st / Poom 1st / Black Dan 9th Over 73.1 kg(HEAVY), won her first fight, made it to the quarter finals

Poomsae Tournament
The Blue Wave held their first Poomsae Tournament Jan 12, 2019 in Bradford, Vt. It was a good time, a great success with almost 70 students competing.All proceeds contributed to the Bruce V. Twing Scholarship Fund.

USAT and AAU Nationals
More kudos for our Blue Wave athletes competing at National Championships this week. In UT, Master Sue Cronin’s poomsae scores marked a new personal best, and Mr. Sayles fought hard and came close in a rollicking Men’s Ultra division. In FL, two awesome young Burlington athletes put in strong performances in their respective sparring divisions (and scored some pretty sweet TKD swag!). Mr. Barclay and Ms. Sayles fight today, so please direct all your Blue Wave spirit and cheers toward them in UT!!!

When we stated the Blue Wave team had put in an impressive performance on the national stage this year— we weren’t kidding! Check out this video of Krister Barclay, bringing it to the mats with talent and skill to win his first fight against the number six seed in his division! (Very impressive! And, on a stage!) Way to represent, Mr. Barclay!!!
BVT Golf Tournament
The 13th annual BVT Golf Tournament was held on September 24th and was by far our biggest to date. It was held at the Bradford Golf Course. There were 28 participants in the golf tournament and a crew of spectators, family members, and Blue Wave advocates. This is one of our largest fund raisers for the Bruce V. Twing Scholarship Fund

Board Breaking Seminar
The Burlington Blue Wave Taekwondo raised $1710 for the Cancer Patient Support Foundation with our board breaking seminar today. Thank you to everyone who participated, held boards , broke boards, drove kids, cleaned up and of course gave generous donations. We had over 50 participants!
